Tentang cara pulang kesana

I spot another late bloomer

I spot another late bloomer: Diego Milito.

at an age when many strikers begin to lose their pace, Diego Milito is just started. In his first season at the very top level of football, the 30-year-old has scored the biggest goals for Inter Milan all season.

Diego Milito never been considered as ‘wonderkid’ like Allessandro Del Piero, Lionel Messi, or Wayne Rooney. He start from below. Small clubs to another. A slightly good performances, but not good enough to appear on headlines. He might have attract some scouts, but never been considered a top notched striker. Just good, but nothing special. At least that what they think of him for the past years.

But things change. And life happens. And ladyluck smiles. He scored two magical goals at the European Champions League Finals. Massimo Moratti surprised that he get so much for a not-so-expensive player like Milito. And he himself, told the press that “This is a joy i’ve never experienced.”

And suddenly i remember this quote from Elizabeth Gilbert:

“Don’t be afraid. Don’t be daunted. Just do your job. Continue to show up for your piece of it, whatever that might be. If your job is to dance, do your dance. If the divine, cockeyed genius assigned to your case decides to let some kind of wonderment be glimpsed, just for one moment through your efforts, then ‘Ole!’ And if not, then do your dance anyhow, and ‘ole’ to you, nonetheless”

Elizabeth Gilbert

You know why late bloomers are my favorites?

They remind me that there’s always hope.
